The client who commissioned this piece knew she wanted a chest of drawers made out of Curly Cherry. I purchased a single slab of 3" thick Curly Cherry, measuring 26" wide, out of which I could get all the parts for the chest. Then, using Israel Sack's book "Fine Points of American Furniture" we settled on a piece given the superlative "Masterpiece" by Sack as the inspiration for her chest of drawers.
