In the winter of 2020, I harvested three Walnut trees, transported the logs to the sawyer, then transported the lumber to my property, and air dried the lumber until 2022 when I had a commission for this chest of drawers. The client, disappointed that my Cherry Queen Anne tall chest of drawers had just sold, asked about a Walnut chest of drawers with the same design. I suggested to the client that she let me use crotch Walnut for the drawer fronts, that it would look stunning. This piece is finished with oil and shellac.
