Pillar Mirror

This is the companion piece to the commode and will hang above it.

As the companion to the commode, this mirror features the same carved floral motif on the pillars and a lower rail veneered with the same crotch veneer. The center rail is mortise and tenoned in the stiles and the rails are mortise and tenoned into the stiles, also. The crown molding was shaped with molding planes. The panel in the top third of the frame is painted with an historic scene, including the well-known Hopkins-Birdwood House in Haddonfield, NJ. The painting was completed by Marlene Coble and the mirror is for a resident of Haddonfield.
