This Philadelphia Wingback chair features a horizontal and a vertical roll, a curved front rail, and carved knees. The design is based on several surviving examples from the Philadelphia area in the late 1700s but incorporates some of my own design elements like the carving and the angle of recline. The legs are finished with aniline dyes, oil, and shellac. The fabulous upholstery job was executed by Shelby Upholstery in Indianapolis.
