An example of my own design, this tall chest of drawers is made of Cherry that I purchased after it had been air dried in a barn for 30 years. It has beautiful figure and a warm, antique Cherry color. The case is dovetailed together with the drawer dividers being dovetailed to the case sides. The drawers are joined with hand-cut dovetails and the drawer lip was accomplished with chisel and shoulder plane. The bracket feet are also dovetailed together. I let the Cherry oxidize for a few months before finishing for a deeper color.  It is finished with boiled linseed oil and hand-padded garnet shellac.
