This chest on chest is inspired by, and based on, a chest on chest in the book "Connecticut Valley Furniture."  The drawer dividers are joined to the case with dovetails and the rails of the lower chest are pegged mortise and tenon joints.  The sides are of single boards.  Curly Cherry is the primary wood with a lesser grade of cherry for secondary parts. Its dimensions are 72x38x18.  The finish is several hours of photo oxidation to darken the wood, boiled linseed oil, and garnet shellac.
