On a trip through Pennsylvania, we decided to stop at Irion Lumber to purchase some select lumber.  I had a bureau in mind to build which I saw pictured in "Connecticut Valley Furniture."  The bureau, built by Eliphalet Chapin, was striking in its proportions, contour, moldings, and ogee bracket feet.  Here are pictures of that bureau finished and being built from the beautiful Walnut I purchased at Irion.  Pictures include preparing dovetail joints, hand tooling the curved drawers, carving the cockbeading, and gluing up the case.
